This weekend May 8th, 2010, The London Warriors Junior kitted team opened its 2010 American football season, on a positive note by winning all of their games. They opened up the season with a 13 person roster with the following returning players: Ben, Oli, James, Jamal, Elijah and Fabien, and the following new team members: Anton, "T", Zach, Ricardo, the first female member of the Junior Warriors, Riana, Hiren, and Ryan who both moved up from the Warriors Junior flag program.

Game 1     Warriors vs. Marlow Wolves

The Warriors opened the game on the first play from scrimmage with a run by Anton who ran the length of the field to open the scoring. The Extra point was good making the score at 7 to 0 Warriors.

The Wolves came right back down the field with a series of plays to tie the score at 7 to 7. The Warriors offence, stormed right back, moving the ball both on the ground and in the air. QB Ben hit Jamal over the right side, where Jamal caught the ball in his finger tips, pulled it down and ran it in for the second touchdown of the game for the young Warriors. Again the extra point attempt was good making the score to 14 to 7. Again the Wolves came right back and drove down field with a number of runs and passes to score on their second drive. However on their extra point attempt, “T” stepped in front to deflect the pass keeping the Warriors in front, 14 to 13. The tenacious Warriors offence came right back marching down the field with a series of runs and passes, culminating with a touchdown pass from Ben to Anton. However, this time the extra point attempt was no good. Warriors 20, Wolves 13.

On the Wolves next possession, the Warriors defence woke up, coming up with a number of pass deflections by both “T” and Ben. The defence held the Wolves from scoring, so there was a turnover on downs. The Warriors offence came right back down the field with this drive culminating with a touchdown pass from Ben to Oli. This time the extra point attempt was good bringing the score to 27 to 13 at the half.

The second half opened with the Warriors defence making a big stand and not allowing much for the Wolves to do, including a 4th down sack by James. The Warriors offence marched back down the field, before Ben under pressure from the Wolves Nose Tackle, threw an interception. The Wolves marched back down the field to score a TD but the extra point once again was knocked away by “T”. The Warriors offence looking to make up for the previous possession marched down the field with a series of runs and pass plays that got them down to the 5 yard line. This time they scored when Ben completed a pass to James. The Extra point attempt was good making the final score to 34 to 19.

Game 2      Warriors vs. Coventry Jets

The Warriors opened this game on offence driving down the field and scoring on a pass from Ben to Oli, but the extra point attempt was incomplete. Warriors up  6 to 0. The Jets came out on offence with a series of runs and passes driving down the field. Their drive culminated with a touchdown tying the score at 6. The extra point attempt was no good.

The Warriors offence marched right back down the field, scoring on a run by Anton for a TD. This time the extra point was good, bringing the score to 13 to 6 in favour of the young Warriors. However, the Jets marched right back down the field aided by a number of missed tackles by the Warriors defence, tying the game at 13, with a touchdown and extra point.. The Warriors offence took over once again and marched down the field. This drive ended with a touchdown pass from Ben to Oli, but the extra point conversion was no good. The score now stood at 19 to 13. The Warriors held the Jets from scoring before the half. On the opening drive of the second half, the Warriors defence putting a lot of pressure on the Jets QB, held them from scoring, with Hiren just missing a sack twice on the drive. This caused a turnover on downs, and the Warriors offence once again drove down the field, with the final play being a TD pass from Ben to James. The Extra point was good to bring the score to 26 to 13.  The Jets came right back down the field to score and stay in the game to bring the score to 26 to 20, on a run down the left sideline. The Warriors offence did not give in and drove down the field once again, this time culminating in a touchdown on a run by Anton, the extra point was good on a pass from Ben to Anton to close the scoring at 33 to 19, to the Warriors.

Game 3     Warriors vs. Kent Exiles

This game was much different than the first 2 for the Warriors. The bad weather and long day had them tired and dragging a bit. The game opened up with the Exiles on offence driving briefly, but the Warriors defence stopped them on fourth down. The Warriors offence moved the ball a bit but due to an incomplete pass turned the ball over on downs.  The Exiles came back on offence moving the ball down the field but Ben stepped in front of a would be receiver, intercepting the pass, ran the ball back for a touchdown on a “pick 6”. The extra point was good on a pass from Ben to Oli, putting the Warriors up 7 to 0 over the Exiles. On the next offensive possession of the Exiles they went 4 and out. This was then answered by the Warriors offence who also had a 4 and out, for only the second time of the day. This brought us to half time.

In the second half, the Warriors came out fighting, driving down the field, with the big play being a pass from Ben to Fabien for a touchdown. The extra point was no good. The Exiles came right back and drove down the field for a score of their own, including a converted extra point, putting the score at 13 to 7. The Warriors came right back down the field getting a first and goal on the Exiles 5 yard line. However 4 straight dropped passes in the end zone by Warrior receivers turned the ball over on downs.   The Exiles came back driving the ball down the field, but an  interception by Oli  stopped them in their tracks. The Warriors drove back down the field and yet more dropped passes kept them from scoring. The clock then ran out leaving the Warriors with their third victory of the day, with the final score being 13 to 7
